1. Boeing AH 64E Apache Guardian (USA)
Boeing AH 64E Apache Guardian has currently used by the US Army is the most advanced ever built. This attack helicopter is fitted with 30 mm cannon, advanced battle management systems & a mast mounted antenna with an updated Longbow fire control radar which enable pilot to fire multiple Hellfire 2 air to ground missiles in fire and forget mode.



2. Bell AH-1Z Viper (USA)
This attack helicopter is also used by the US Marine Corps & was first introduced in 2010. It uses modern target sighting system, infrared suppression system & modern transmission upgraded avionics. The Bell AH-1Z Viper has a 20 mm three barrel cannon & carries 16 Hellfire air to surface missiles, pods with unguided rockets & 2 Sidewinder fire and forget air to air missiles.




3. Kamov Ka-52 Hokum-B (Russia)
This newer improved version of the famous Ka-50 Hokum is one of the fastest & most maneuverable attack helicopters in the world. The main reason why the Ka-52 is so much maneuverable is because of its two coaxial contra rotating main rotors. It is also incredibly strongest. Due to its reinforced armor it can withstand hits from 23 mm projectiles without taking any major damages. As for the gun it carries the Ka-52 uses a 30 mm cannon, 12 Vikhr anti tank missiles & can carry quite a few unguided rockets with Igla air-to-air missiles.




4. Mil Mi-28 Havoc (Russia)
This Mil Mi-28 Havoc is one of the most heavily-armored attack helicopters in the world now. It is in service with the Russian army since 2006. This particular helicopter has been in development since the 1970. Mil Mi-28 Havoc lacks a secondary troops transport capability, it makes up by featuring an emergency escape system for the crews, a 30 mm cannon, eight Ataka anti armor missiles, & unguided rocket pods.




5. Eurocopter Tiger (France/Germany)
It is currently in service with the French and German air forces, Eurocopter Tiger is a medium weight attack helicopter which first entered service in 2002 & has been in service ever since. It features stealth technology & carries a 30 mm cannon, unguided missiles, & Mistral air-to-air missiles.




6. AH-1W Super Cobra (USA)
This twin engine attack helicopter is based on the AH-1 Cobra. This particular helicopter is very light weight even though it can carry quite an arsenal if its mission requires it. 7. Agusta A129 Mangusta (Italy)
Agusta A129 Mangusta was actually the first dedicated attack helicopter ever produced in Western Europe. The first such helicopter was produced in 1990 & it remained in service ever since. It is a light weight attack helicopter which means that it carries less armor than most of the helicopters on our list. This doesn’t make it any less formidable. It can carry Hellfire/TOW anti tank missiles, Stinger Mistral anti-aircraft missiles & unguided rockets.




8. AH-2 Rooivalk (South Africa)
It uses most of the dynamic components of Aerospatiale Super Puma which is a larger more powerful helicopter. AH-2 Rooivalk can carry even arsenal depending on its missions. As permanent features it is also equipped with a nose mounted 20 mm cannon & can carry air-to-air missiles, anti-armour missiles & unguided rockets.




9. Z-10 (China)
The Chinese Z-10 attack helicopter entered service in 2008 & has been produced constantly ever since. This particular helicopter has a standard gunship configuration which uses a narrow fuselage & stepped tandem cockpits. Its weaponry consists of a 30 mm cannon, HJ-9 anti tank guided missiles, a couple of HJ-10 anti-tank missiles & a few TY-90 air-to-air missiles as well. Z-10 is also capable of carrying unoperated rocket pods.





10. Mil Mi-24 Hind (Russia)
Mil Mi-24 Hind first entered production in the 1970s for the Soviet Army & its allies. Many were manufactured over the years & it is estimated that a total of 1,500 helicopters are in service to this day in at least 50 countries. Though production of this attack helicopter ceased in 1991, Mil Mi-24 Hind is considered as one of the best attack helicopters ever made.
