Turn Your Smartphone or Tablet into a TV Remote




Are you ready to binge your favorite television shows ? Now think of all the  remotes living on your coffee table. one  for the TV,  DVD  player, cable,  gaming console. That is quite a collection you have got going there. Pare it  down a bit by learning how to turn your smartphone or tablet into a TV  remote.

1. IR  blaster

Many newer mobile devices, like  the Samsung Galaxy S® 5, HTC One® (M8) and LG G3, are equipped with  IR blasters the same infrared tech that your old TV  remote uses to communicate with your TV. If your phone has an IR blaster then download a TV remote app like Any Mote Smart IR Remote . Not only it  can control your TV but also do any device that receives an IR signal set top boxes, DVD & Blue ray players, stereo equipment & even some air conditioning systems.

2. Manufacturer  app

Todays Smart TVs have  accompanying manufacturer apps. Samsung  Smart TVs, for example, are compatible with  the Samsung TV Remote App. The  app allows your device & television to communicate over your Wi-Fi network. Chances are if you've a Smart TV, there is an app that will turn your device into a remote.

3. Get  the  hardware

If you are phone does not have an IR blaster, you are not out of luck. If you do not need to go channel surfing with a device like Google Chromecast  or  Belkin Miracast™ Display Adapter you can use compatible apps on your  mobile device to cast videos, pictures & other content on your TV.
